The RRL Grindrod / Exxaro Mining Group diesels, which are still staged along Maydon Wharf awaiting the arrival of a ship to take them on to Brazzaville - Republic of the Congo (27th April 2013).

These are the first three diesel locomotives (from left to right Exx-3001 / Exx-3002 / Exx-3003), built by RRL Grindrod South Africa, for the Exxaro Mining Group, based in South Africa. They are to be used in the group's iron ore operations in Brazzaville, in the Republic of Congo. They arrived in Durban during Saturday night, 20th April 2013, having made their way down to Durban, from Pretoria via Swaziland, under their own power and now await loading onto a ship for their journey on to the Congo.

37-099 / 37-0?? / 37-060 crossing over just before Durban Station with containers and petrol tankers from the North Coast (21st April 2013).

18-401 crosses the Pentrich Viaduct with a Premier Classe set (25th June 2011).

18-683 / 18-639 / 18-642 running light units through Umlaas Road Station (13th March 2012).

18-646 and a "Python" over the Pentrich Viaduct cross back over to the correct road after successfully negotiating some track maintenance work (2nd August 2012).

Not often we get to see five TFR red liveried 18Es working a train together in KZN. This is 18-605 / 18-604 (did not get the other three numbers). 18-605 & 18-604 look like they have had a clean recently. The fifth loco was not working. Pictured here at Umlaas Road (11th April 2013).
